Today was not a ‘most’ day; studio was closed.

August 8-11

Killarney

We expected to visit Killarney for 2 days, but bad weather kept us here for 4.

looper locator:

Walked this gravel road to the East KIllarney Light at Red Rock Point.  The view was spectacular.

One September at the Sportsman

Another thing you don’t see in Virginia!

Big storms with high winds are predicted for the next two days.  That’s why we are staying in port.  They have floating docks here because water levels change from year to year,  but they can’t have pilings because they can’t drive the pilings into the rock bed.  Therefore, they tie the docks together to resist the wind.  Very comforting....

August 11, Saturday

It was only 55 degrees here this morning!, and seas still not suitable for traveling.  Across the cut is George Island, which has a hiking trail, so we hiked a little until the rains came again.

When we arrived back at the docks, two otters were playing around.

One September at Sportsman’s Inn, taken from the other side of the cut on George Island.  Note mountains in the background.

August 12, Sunday

Killarney to Baie Fine

West Killarney Lighthouse

We did a ‘fly by’ of Coverage Portage Cove; can you see the Indian?

We followed Jim’s Joy through Lansdowne Channel

Entering Baie Fine, possibly the only fjord in North America.  Photos that follow are of Baie Fine.

Starboard (right side) marker!

The rocks at the top are white.

This is the view from the bow of our anchorage tonight.

And this is the view from the stern.

We are rafting with Jim’s Joy.
